Discover the artistry and technique of printmaking in our comprehensive 14-week course designed for adults. Whether you're a seasoned printmaker looking to expand your skills or a newcomer curious about exploring a new artistic medium, this course offers a rich blend of traditional and contemporary printmaking methods. This course explores various printmaking techniques, focusing primarily on linocut while also delving into engraving, collagraph, monotype, and monoprint. Participants will learn to carve intricate designs into linoleum blocks, explore the expressive qualities of drypoint on plates, experiment with textured collagraph, and create unique monotype and monoprint compositions. Course Highlights: -Introduction to Printmaking: Understand the fundamentals of printmaking techniques, tools, and materials. -Linocut Printing: Master the art of linoleum block carving and printing. -Engraving & Lithography: Explore home studio friendly methods of drypoint engraving and lithography. -Collagraph Printing: Experiment with collagraphy, utilizing textured materials to create richly layered prints. -Monotype and Monoprint: Discover the spontaneity of monotype and monoprint techniques, producing one-of-a-kind prints with varied textures and colors. -Mixed Media Stamping: Incorporate mixed materials into your prints, exploring stamp-making techniques on both paper and fabric. -Textured Collage Printing: Combine collage elements with printing, creating compositions that integrate texture and visual depth. Course Structure: The syllabus progresses from foundational techniques to more advanced methods, allowing participants to develop their skills and artistic voice throughout the course. Sessions will include demonstrations, hands-on practice, individual guidance, and group critiques to foster a supportive and creative learning environment. Refunds are available if you cancel 14 days before classes start. After 14 days we will refund you if we can fill your spot minus a $45 administrative fee. No Refunds after the class has started.
