Wet Felting Workshop: Table Mat/Placemat

Ready to make art that you can touch (and maybe even hang on your wall)? Join us for a fun 3 ½ hour wet felting workshop where you’ll create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind felted mat! Whether you’re a complete beginner or have dabbled in felting before, this class is perfect for all experience levels. Come with a simple idea for your design – maybe a pattern, a picture, or something abstract – using 2 to 3 colors (a colored sketch is super helpful if you have one!). Don’t worry if you’re not sure how it’ll turn out—felting is all about exploring and adjusting as you go. Fibre artist Megan Arundal will guide you through the process, and you’ll end up with a gorgeous felted piece that’s uniquely yours! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the four stages of felting: designing and laying out your wool, felting it together, fulling (shrinking) the fabric, and shaping it into your finished piece. We’ll provide all the materials you need, so all you have to bring is a large bath towel, a hand towel, and a pair of sharp scissors.
