Winter 2025: Drawing 101

Service Description

Back to basics! Whether you are a beginner looking to learn some basic skills or a seasoned artist to spark back your drawing practice, this introduction to drawing is for you! During the 8 weeks, you will learn various techniques including line drawing, shading, perspective, blind drawing, chiaroscuro, shape and size relationship. We will draw a variety of objects, produce, flowers, portraits, etc. Most importantly you will explore ways to develop your own unique style. Previous participants can expect new exercises and drawing projects. -Learn the foundational skills of drawing for creating realistic and aesthetically pleasing artwork. - Be inspired in a creative class environment that provides encouragement and room for experimentation. -Try different media from pastel, chalk, charcoal, pencil, watercolour pencils and markers This course is led by experienced art instructor Amelie Blanchard who has extensive experience and knowledge in art and drawing. Amelie will offer insights, techniques, and tips that students might not find elsewhere. All supplies are included, participants can bring their own supplies if they wish. Open to adults and teens 16+
